Love has looped

Love has looped in tangled thread
around my heart and mind,
synaptic, sure and cellular
it marks my world defined.
I hold onto the needled thoughts,
in brittle knots revealed
and weep embroidered tears of pain
for words you cannot hear.
It's in the wanting that I stay,
where feeling flowers slow,
in measured stitch of mothering;
it's all that's left to hold.

  1. It doesn't make any differene if it fits, Roslyn, a prompt is ever only a suggestion and we are free to go wherever we need to go. One of the suggestions in this prompt was to write about an act of affection. You did that well and with a great deal of thought and emotion. For me, that's a wonderful fit.
